In 2020, mid pandemic, I was asked to create a series of videos about how to manage your emotions when your corn had popped!
I liked the analogy; the popcorn in the pan with the heat under it then suddenly - BOOM - an explosion, and something happened which can not be undone.
Lots of people were popping their corn back then - emotions flying about everywhere with people either exploding or imploding. The environment we were all in was new territory, the future unclear.
The reality is, the future always is unclear as we don't know from one day to the next what could happen to cause us to pop our corn, whether a big issue like the pandemic or something much smaller and closer to home, like waking up to an email you perceive as negative.
There are a million little things that can make us feel like the corn in the pan, whether we actually pop or not is in our control.
